About the Author
Mark J. Perry is a resident scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and a professor at the University of Michigan’s Flint campus, where he teaches graduate classes in economics and finance. He is best known as the creator and editor of the popular economics blog Carpe Diem, which is now hosted by AEI. In addition to scholarly research, Perry enjoys writing guest editorials to a general audience on current economic issues. Perry's opinion pieces have been very popular, and have appeared in more than twenty newspapers in the state of Michigan and many newspapers around the country, including the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, Washington Examiner, LA Times, USA Today, Investors Business Daily, Dallas Morning News, Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, Sacramento Bee, Saint Paul Pioneer Press, Miami Herald, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Salt Lake City Tribune, San Jose Mercury News, Detroit News, Detroit Free Press, the Daily Oakland Press, the Flint Journal, and the Lansing State Journal.
